Hawaiian kiawe wood
is the sweetest mesquite you will ever cook with. Make cooking with Hawaiian kiawe the centerpiece of your Hawaiian culinary experience!

Hawaiian Kiawe Company is fully Hawaiian owned and operated on the Big Island of Hawaii.

Kiawe is an invasive species well known in Hawaii for taking over large swaths of low lying leeward side coastal lands on all islands. It is a species of the mesquite tree; its scientific name is Prosopis pallida. It is a thorny legume, native to Colombia, Ecuador and Peru.

It is basically known as a pest but like all “pests” it has a good side as well. The sweet smoke created when burning Hawaiian kiawe produces unmatched flavor in your meats, fish and vegetables.

Executive chefs and grilling enthusiasts throughout Hawaii choose Hawaiian Kiawe to give that special tropical pizzaz to their culinary creations.
